Abe & Louie’s steakhouse and Atlantic Fish Co., two restaurants on Boston’s Boylston Street, will reopen for business on Saturday at 5 p.m. after a 12-day closure following the Boston Marathon bombings, the restaurants’ parent company said Friday.
Abe & Louie’s and Atlantic Fish are near each other --- and they are also near the site of the second explosion. In the aftermath of the bombings, a stretch of Boylston Street was turned into a crime scene.
Employees of Abe & Louie’s and Atlantic Fish were able to return to the restaurants on Wednesday, said Tavistock Restaurants, the San Franciso-based company that operates more than 100 restaurants across the US under 16 different brand names. Those names include Abe & Louie’s and Atlantic Fish.
Employees at the Boylston Street Abe & Louie’s and Atlantic Fish have spent the last few days repairing, prepping, and cleaning the restaurants, Tavistock Restaurants said.
“We serve only the freshest food, and we want the restaurants to be perfect for our guests, so we’ve re-stocked the kitchens and the bars so that everything is fresh when we re-open,” company chief operations officer Bill Bartlett said in a statement.
