The Kraft Group is no longer pursuing a bid to buy The Boston Globe, according to a person briefed on the plans of the New England Patriots owners.
As previously reported, the Krafts have held meetings with Globe managers and investment bankers for The New York Times Co., which is selling the Globe. However the group has now decided not to bid, according to the person briefed on the matter, who was not authorized to speak publicly.
Jonathan Kraft, president of the Kraft Group, has declined requests for an interview.
A Globe story Wednesday about the June 27 deadline for submitting bids included the Krafts on the list of possible bidders.
The Times Co. declined to comment.
