Last year, Whole Foods purchased six Johnnie’s Foodmaster leases, and one of those leases is for the Charlestown location.

The new Whole Foods store will occupy nearly 30,000 square feet of space, and employ roughly 170 full- and part-time employees, the company said.

New store features include a fresh fruit and vegetable juice and espresso bar, an in-house bakery, and a European cheese room, Whole Foods said.

The store will be the company’s 25th in Massachusetts; the company has roughly 350 stores in the US, Canada, and the UK. It reported about $12 billion in sales last year.

The schedule calls for the Whole Foods Market in Charlestown to be open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m., seven days a week.
