The car that started the luxury crossover frenzy is now in its third generation, and Lexus has added more refinements without a radical restyling that might alienate current owners.
Those customers might want to upgrade to new RX 450h, which adds 27 horsepower and fuel-saving technology like exhaust heat recovery (helping to warm the engine quicker and keep it off for longer periods, Lexus says).
As with all Lexus hybrids, the 450h isn't geared toward people who cut their lawns with a reel mower, but those who'd rather remodel their 5,000-square foot homes for "green certification." That's the real money market for hybrids, and Lexus owns it.
