Like the new 911, the S models of the Boxster and Cayman now benefit from direct-injection, accounting for 15 and 25 horsepower gains, respectively, and an approximate 10 to 15 percent bump in fuel economy. That's better than the limited-edition 303 horsepower RS 60 Spyder, and for less cost.
There's also an optional 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that replaces the old Tiptronic automatic, and Carrera GT-inspired head and taillamps sporting LEDs. Besides a few more wheel choices, revised front and rear skirts and a bigger 2.9 liter flat-six in the base models, it's business as usual for this mid-engine duo.
