Debuts at the 2010 New York Auto Show
2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class WagonWagons may be staging a comeback in America, what with new 5-door variants of the Acura TSX and Cadillac CTS, but Mercedes-Benz has always offered them, albeit in limited amounts. The 2011 E-Class Wagon is the best of them, if only because Audi, BMW, and Mercedes itself save the faster, hotter wagons for Europe.
All-wheel-drive with the 3.5 liter, 268 horsepower V-6 is the only configuration, and the exterior is just as sharp as the sedan. Inside theres about 70 cubic feet of cargo space, seating for seven, and no stigma of Chevy Chases family on vacation.
Compared with the companys other seven-seaters, the puffy R-Class is a minivan in disguise, the massive GL simply overkill. Neither offers any substantial increase in room, and both handle worse and guzzle more gas.
Makes sense why wagons went out of style, right?
