2011 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible

This is Bentley’s “green” model, an ethanol-powered version of its 12-cylinder, all-wheel-drive Continental GTC. It reduces CO2 and all that other stuff.

Weight is the real reduction here, to the tune of 200 pounds. For Bentley, throwing in carbon-ceramic brakes and carbon fiber racing seats on a vehicle already weighing two and a half tons is a bewildering source of national pride.

As are these specs: 621 horsepower, zero to 60 in 3.9 seconds, and 202 mph. And on the European test cycle, a combined 17 mpg. That’s respect any way you color it.
