2012 Porsche 911
When Porsche redesigned the latest 911, they knew better than to meddle with a good thing. Through the decades, the 911 merely evolves in its rear-engine glory. For 2012, the base 3.4-liter flat-six produces 350 horsepower, while opting for the S model yields a 400 horsepower 3.8-liter mill.
The result? The S model can get to 60 miles per hour a scant 3.9 seconds. While the new 911 manages to be lighter yet larger than the previous model, all this performance comes at a cost. Base MSRP for the Carrera is $82,100, and can push well past $100,000 for a Carrera S model with options selected.
