Mitsubishi Galant

It's sedans like the Galant that make you wonder why Mitsubishi is still in business here. In 2006, after years of abysmal sales, the company wondered that thought aloud and reports rang out foretelling a Mitsubishi pullout. Last year sales were up 9 percent compared to 2006, but the Galant can't take the praise - the new Lancer models have been the company's real competitors.

This isn't to say that this refreshed Galant, with new taillamps and an optional 230 hp V6, is a bad car. The Ralliart model takes away some of its boring styling and dynamics, but the car desperately needs a redo. If Saturn did it with the Aura and Hyundai with the Azera, rally racer Mitsubishi definitely can.
