OnStar started the telematics movement with its satellite-based service that could automatically call emergency personnel in the event of a crash. Now, OnStar has developed into a full-blown 24-hour concierge service, with turn-by-turn directions, remote unlocking, and even engine disablement in the event of theft. Hyundai’s Blue Link uses a Bing voice search with the assist of a real human for hard-to-decipher phrases and can download the desired location straight into the GPS.
