Pontiac G8 sport truck

Almost out of nowhere, the quirky HSV Maloo R8 (Holden Special Vehicles, a performance brand of GM's Australian division) has rushed to our shores dressed up as a Pontiac - and with 50 Cent on its hood, no less.

Without an official name, the G8 sport truck boasts the same 361 horsepower V8 in the G8 GT but with the added bonus of towing 3,500 pounds and carrying a heavier load in the back (1,300 pounds minus the passengers). A few years ago the Subaru Baja, based on the Legacy Outback, tried resurrecting the El Camino style but failed after dismal sales. Then again, it didn't have a big, honking V8 to play with.
