The Globe's Top Drives for 2011
After a year of social media promotion, Ford is now selling the Fiesta, its entry-level subcompact newcomer. You can enjoy it for $15,000 or trick it out with a dual-clutch gearbox, heated seats, leather, and more for $20,000. Its a fun car to drive and, if driven carefully, can get nearly 40 miles per gallon.
Should gas prices spike again, the Fiesta is positioned to be a big seller and we think it might be wise to be ahead of the curve if a small vehicle can suit your needs. We preferred the hatchback to the sedan for its utility. The 1.6-liter engine has enough power with either manual or six-speed automatic transmissions. BG
