HERNDON, Va.—Volkswagen of America Inc. said Wednesday that August sales dipped 8 percent, another automaker to show lower results due to the tough comparisons with last year's Cash for Clunkers August sales.
BY THE NUMBERS: Volkswagen sold 22,855 vehicles in the month, down 7.9 percent.
TOP SELLERS: Volkswagen sold 10,667 Jettas in August.
HOT MODELS: The Jetta SportWagen. August sales of 2,560 represented a 125 percent year-over-year increase.
