Boston Globe auto section revived with local writers
Starting Saturday, Feb. 13, the weekend automotive section in The Boston Globe will return to its New England roots by featuring an exclusive roster of local journalists.
Regular reviews, news, and features — which due to budget constraints had been replaced by wire services — will now be covered by writers from the New England Motor Press Association, of which former Globe auto writers Royal Ford and John White are members.
Boston.com has been providing original automotive reviews and news to satisfy the New England car consumer and enthusiast since the Boston Overdrive blog launched in December 2008.
Boston.com Cars editor Clifford Atiyeh and frequent Boston.com correspondent and Globe veteran editor Bill Griffith will join Glenn Gould, former auto correspondent for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and Robb Report, and Gerry Miles, former auto editor of the Portsmouth Herald, on both Saturdays and Sundays in print. John Paul of AAA is also making a comeback on Sundays with his popular "Car Doctor" advice column, which as always will appear at boston.com/cardoctor.
Of course, you'll be able to read everything right here at boston.com/overdrive and boston.com/cars.
Please let us know what you think. Send an e-mail to cars@boston.com, and if you're in New England, do yourself (and us!) a favor and buy a copy.
