Census 2000 Long-form data
On May 21, 2002, the US Census Bureau released detailed demographic information for the six New England states. The information contains data based on the questions asked in the 2000 Census long form. Details such as housing, income and transportation are included in this new data.

The Boston Globe has combed through the data and created a number of rankings based on it. The full documentation for this release is helpful to understand what the column headings for the various spreadsheets and tables mean. They are known as "subject definitions."
