Readers, what is the appeal of a resort casino located in the middle of nowhere? I want to know what you are looking for in a Massachusetts resort casino. Is it the same as what is being offered at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun? How is a stand alone resort casino better than a destination packed with casinos like Atlantic City or Las Vegas because I just don't see the advantage beyond less travel. A casino in the woods doesn't strike me as appealing as a destination like Vegas or AC but maybe if all you're looking to do is dump a few quarters into the slot machine I guess it is enough.
My previous thoughts on a casino in Foxborough are here.
