Now that the Greenway is restoring the Dewey Square parcel I am trying to remember what people did there before it became a tent city. It's not the most attractive parcel. It's bordered by an off ramp for 93, two of Boston's largest buildings and a MassDOT ventilation building. Food trucks used the hardtop portion of the parcel for setting up shop but that space wasn't used for camping by the Occupiers, though the camp did reportedly impact their business.
One of the persistent criticisms of the Greenway is that people just don't use it enough. Of course now the Occupiers may have used it too much.
Did you ever use the park? If you did what did you do there? I know it has only been 10 weeks but does anybody remember what that place was like before Occupy Boston set up their camp?
