Maryanne Wolf holds the John DiBiaggio Professor of Citizenship and Public Service at Tufts University,where she directs the Center for Reading and Language Research in the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development. She has received major awards for her research and teaching from the Institutes for Child Health and Human Development, International Dyslexia Association,Fulbright Fellowship, Massachusetts Psychological Association, and the American Psychological Association. The author of over 150 scholarly publications, Wolf wrote her first book for the general public, "Proust and the Squid: The Story and Science of the Reading Brain" (HarperCollins, 2007/2008), which has been translated into 10 languages.
