So with that being said I am not giving up on our team... we have
showed incredible resolve this season and should be able to go deep
into playoffs without Garnett and I truly hope he can return.  If he cant
then I hope for a rapid recovery so he can return 100% next season.
This is obviously worse than anyone initially thought. But I still
believe in the Boston Celtics and I hope you do too

      0 KG + 2 many TO's = not this year.

Thats to bad because if the Cavs or Lakers win it they will not have played the best teams to be champs

I would not be surpised to see KG play. He is a warrior. I doubt that we will see him in the first round or maybe even the second one. I am not ready to believe that if the Celtics were in the ECF that you could keep KG from playing.

If the second round is against Orlando (and it will be if higher seeds win first round matchups), we will not beat the Magic in a 7 game series without KG.

Yeah, this upsets me!  I wanted my Cavs to beat your Celtics with KG (and, believe me, they would have!) to finally shut you all up!

i still think we can get to the East Finals without Garnett.... Orlando barely beat us when we didnt have Garnett and everyone is playng much better for us then the last matchup against them

Last year you didn't play the best Laker team. We didn't have Bynum. I'm not comparing Bynum to KG, but we are a better team with Bynum.
GOOOOOOOOOOO LAKERS!!! THE NEW DYNASTY!!!! NEW DYNASTY: LOADING//////////  100% COMPLETE!! LOSTON CEPTICS ONE YEAR GONE 22 MORE TO GO WITHOUT A RING AAAAAAGAIN!!! HA! HA! HA! HA! BEAT THE REFS!!!

I also think we can make it to the conf finals....but Lebron will not be denied unless we shut down everybody else  namely Williams and West.  At the same time have somebody like Marbury avg like 15-20 pts for the series.

Reb

Have had some massive computer issues the  last couple days and between that and son's baseball have kept me away from posting a bit.

Ditto yours and Doc's thought. We have faced adversity all year. What else is new? This is still a darn good team. Powe and TA have looked good. As for surgery earlier in my opinion the people who knew then thought there might be some way to avoid it, to salvage this season. If he had had it he probably would be out anyway. Sort of reminds me of the Lakers and Bynum last year holding out some hope he'd be back.

So here we are in a corner. I hope teams take us lightly and underestimate us. Like a wounded animal we'll fight. I'm not counting us out of this by any stretch.

OFF TOPIC on a somewhat good note Marcus got to pitch an inning in yesterdays scrimmage against another local (small school) baseball team with mostly Varsity players. Gave up a bunt single that the catcher never went for and was close to the plate. Walked one and with those 2 on base their star player teed off on one that is still going I think. Marcus did strike out 2 and forced a little bloop pop up. Only one ball was hit hard and like I told him he will not be the only pitcher that is going to see that happen with that kid.

I tried to tell you all that he should have had surgery done in March when he knew this was more serious than originally thought but no!!!!! Everyone tried to play coy, listen the Celtics can win without KG!He's only one guy albeit a very good guy...They still have the Truth and Jesus Shuttlesworth and they both have Game!!! BBD and Mikki Moore will just have to carry the front line with Powe and Perk...So y'all don't go all doom and gloom!!!This team won an awful lot of games without KG and I don't see why they won't be able to fight their way to another Championship..Never underestimate the Heart of a Champion!!!!!

beat,
i wasnt on posting yesterday either.... celtics will certainly go down swinging if we go down... they really do have the heart of a champion (cue Rudy T!)

and Marcus cant feel bad about that performance... sounds like he did well against mostly older and more experience kids!!! keep up the good work!!!

BOZO

I'll let the Docters decide on this. Even if he had HAD surgery he'd in all likelyhood not have been able to play in the playoffs.
Sort of like Bynum last year. They were hoping to nurse it through but apparently it didn't work and none of us know exactly what the problem is anyway, so speculation on anyones part is just that. I'll trust the C's management and medical people over anyone on here.

I really wanted to see the Celtics at full strength.  There is no doubt in my mind that 1-12 they are the most talented team in the NBA.  I'm still hoping that KG can get back.

Anything is still possible, because health is not a guarantee for any team in the playoffs.  The games still have to be played.

Unbelievable. We've gone through so much this year, and to have it end like this. A lot of guys have picked it up this year: Rondo, Perk, Baby, Leon, getting Stephon and Mikki, and we've won a lot of games recently, but without Garnett we don't have that special quality. We've gone from the best defense in the NBA to an average defensive team. There's no way we win the title, unless somehow Perk and Mikki morph into unbelievable defensive forces that can shut down Dwight Howard and Gasol and smother everything that comes into the paint like Garnett. I live those guys but there's only one Kevin Garnett. The New Big 3 will be even older next year and LA and Cleveland won't be affected by age like our core is. I think the one title will be the legacy of this team. Unbelievable run last year. We had a legit chance to repeat with Garnett back. Too bad it had to end this way.

I'm looking for Portland to take out the Lakers and Atlanta or Detroit to take out Cleveland.  That way Boston has homecourt in the Finals.  And wins #18 even without KG.

The Bulls will win this series now. They will run the Celtics into the ground with no KG in the middle for an inside game. They will not be able to stop Derrick Rose on the penetration and Ben Gordon has been shooting very well. Tyrus Thomas and Noah can handle the bigs and John Salmons has been a steal so far. GO BULLS!

The Celtic's org can't hide it anymore and drop the bomb.
They realized fans will get mad if they keep hidding the truth. First, they said its up to Garnett if he can play...then Doc put it in mild context like "likely" he cannot play. What da zhyte, why don't they just say "its done"....instead of baiting us.
Master baiter!!

Maybe tomorrow the word "DONE" will be issued....slow process (Celtic's way)

celtics pwners are inhuman  they pushed to get KG back in lineup thus aggravated KG's knee injury!

This was totally bungled by all parties involved. I may have misdiagosed the situation as a meniscus issue, and it may have been another issue with the knee. However, more proactive measures should have been taken up to and including surgery if necessary to correct the situation, if it is correctable. Reality should have told the doctors and trainers what needed to be done at the point of injury. If Garnett is finished for the year, and this is all that can and will be done for him, we may as well give him a retirement party at the 2009 opening game in Oct. or Nov.-If the knee keeps locking up on him, he is finished for good and we can only wish him well. The next question is does one championship get #5 up in the rafters? I don't know! Truly discouraging to all Celtic fans. I know the team will give its' max. effort, I just don't think we have enough defensive intensity and fire power. David Stern will not now have to instruct the Officials on calls to make to insure a Lebron vs, Kobe Finals. Our snake bitten curse has returned to this franchise! DAMN!
