In addition to the listed...Stealing Home with Mark Harmom. Not a lot of baseball action, but it comes full circle.

The natural stops me every time i'm flipping thru the channells. It is such a fun, timless movie. First rate cast. Heavy drama. Wonderfully filmed. It will always remind me of why i love summer and baseball.

Field of Dreams, for capturing baseball's essence as Americana better than any other movie.
Bull Durham for it's awesomely accurate depiction of minor league baseball's unique charms.
Major League for Jobu.
The original Bad News Bears for showing how kids really act when grownups aren't looking.
Honorable mention: The Rookie. Another great movie for dads, almost up there with Field of Dreams.

Not on the list The Scout!
What a great piece of entertainment. May not set well with die hard fans, but personally, I love it.
From the list, I enjoyed Major League, it was like SlapShot for Baseball.
I liked the Rookie because you just might get a second chance!
I liked Bull Durham just because...
Now just to tick off the purists in the crowd... Brewsters Millions
Lets face it, Richard Prior as a minor league pitcher??
(And John Candy as a minor league catcher?? Thats a lot of stress on those knees! )

Two you missed are "Fear Strikes Out: The Jimmy Piersall Story" and - as mentioned- previously "Bang the Drum Slowly"
Hate to say it, but I don't really think there has been a really "great" movie made yet about baseball.

You missed at least a couple.
The original "Angels in the Outfield" was far suprior to the remake.
And another faves of mine, from the fifties, is "It happens Every Spring" starring Ray Milland. If you've never seen it, please do.

The Natural is loosely based on the life of Cambridge, Ma native Eddie Waitkus who played for the Cubs and was shot by an obsessed fan.

Field of Dreams - its more than a baseball movie and nothing beats James Earl Jones's speech about baseball being the constant.
I say "play ball" :-)

"It happens every Spring" should be on the list. Stars Ray Miland.
