I think The Longest Yard is the best football movie I've seen.
North Dallas Forty is a pretty good football movie, thanks mainly to Nick Nolte, but it's disappointing in comparison to the novel. -

Yes, The Longest Yard was my choice , too. The original with Burt Reynolds and Ray Nitzchke ( did I spell that right?).
Unless Debbie Does Dallas counts as a football movie.

I thought Rudy or The Paper Lion should have been included on the list. Both were true stories and they both showed that effort is just as important as talent. -

This may be the worst list they have ever posted.
Rudy, All the Right Moves, Knute Rockne All American (win one for the gipper), Brians Song, Friday Night Lights? Even The Replacements is better than some of the movies on this list. -

I agree that "Rudy" should be in the mix but I also liked " Necessary Roughness" With Scott Bakula and Sinbad. -

can i just say that "Air Bud: Golden Reciever" should never be on a classic list. Whoever put this together has no idea what a good movie is. -

You forgot Tom Cruise's other football film -- All The Right Moves from 1982 or 1983. How does that not beat out Air Bud at a minimum? -

The Replacements is better than at least 5 movies on that list...heck the Little Giants might be better than some of the choices here. -

North Dallas Forty is a great movie.

Though I don't like Tom Cruise a bit, I loved "All the Right Moves." Also liked "North Dallas Forty." I hated "Friday Night Lights" ... loved the book, love the TV series, hated the movie. -
