p-mike, thanks for reminding me of The Homecoming. It's one of my favorites too. Also want to agree with those who like A Christmas Story and the original Miracle On 34th Street. Those two are classics that along with The Homecoming really capture the Christmas spirit for me.
And for TV specials, my favorites are Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, A Charlie Brown Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol.I grew up with all of these and to me they have never been matched and certainly never surpassed.

My favorite continues to be the original Miracle on 34th Street.
I still get a kick at this scene:
Fred Gailey: Yes, Your Honor...and if he is the person he believes himself to be...just as you are, then he's just as sane.
Judge: Granted, but he isn't.
Fred Gailey: Oh, but he is.
Judge: Is what?
Fred Gailey: I intend to prove that Mr. Kringle is Santa Claus. -

How about "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" with its message of awe and wonder "Hey! Unto you a Child is born!" -

My favorite movies include Peanuts ones and The Nightmare Before Christmas. I like the Family Stone minus Jessica Parker in the movie! -
