"NOW VOYAGER" with Bette Davis and Paul Henreid. I love the way she is transformed into a beautiful woman and finds forbidden love on a cruise with a married man. And, unlike today's movies, they keep that "little strip of territory" sacred even though they're deeply in love. A two Kleenex box movie .

I've alway been a sucker for "The Sure Thing" with John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga (and Nicolette Sheridan in the title role).

I (generally) like all the movies chosen by the paper and all the reader's comments.  Thanks - I'm taking notes.

To the list I would add:  Like Water for Chocolate

Lots of favorites listed. For me Cinema Paradiso is romantic in an unconvential way; it is about a little boy in an Italian village, his friendship with the  projectionist and falling in love with movies.

    Re: Your favorite romantic movies?

Having worked as an extra on "Somewhere in Time" I have to include that movie on my all-time list of most romantic movies. The directing was so-so, the story not all that complex, but the idea of a man who becomes so obsessed with the portrait of a beautiful woman that he must find a way to go back in time to meet her is irresistable.  With probably the most romantic music score of any of the listed films!

    Moonstruck

Maybe even Sabrina or The Horse Wisperer
But am I the only one who loves Murphy's Romance?

I too loved Murphy's Romance, but not sure if it would make the top 20.  Out of Africa is my absolute favorite!!!  Moonstruck is also a favorite.  As for the Boston.com's selections, I just have to say Wall-E?  Really?!?!?

"Now Voyager"  Bette Davis, Paul Henreid and Claude Reins 1942.  "Oh don't let's ask for the moon -- we have the stars!"  Kills me every time.
