Have to agree with Somewhere in Time. Sweet. Sweet. Sweet. And this is totally hokey, but Jerry McGuire. How can you not love..."you complete me..."? *sniff* -

"Sleepless in Seattle", "Something's Gotta Give", "Dr. Zhivago", "Somewhere in Time", even "Splash" are better than most pics on your list.
List was mostly unimaginative..... -

In Response to Re: Your favorite romantic movies?:OK, it's technically a mini-series, and as great as it is this entry owes a lot of its weight to the book it's based on, but 1995's Masterpiece Theatre version of Pride and Prejudice, with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle, is one of my all-time favorite romantic films.

You are SO right. Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy is perfection. -

Only on Boston.com would Wall-E or Brokeback Mountain appear on this list rather than 'Love Jones'.
I'm not going to get into it. *sighs* -

Somewhere in Time didn't end well. Neither did Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet. The Truth About Cats and Dogs teased some femininity out of Janeanne Garofalo. -

Should be in at least top 20.
Other favorities, Roxanne, Before Sunrise, Annie Hall, the Apartment
and Play it Again Sam.
All of these were funny as well as romantic. -

And I also forgot a another great MS movie; FALLING IN LOVE with DiNeroAnd another great love movie with Dinero is STANLEY AND IRIS with Fonda which reminds me, ON GOLDEN POND, The best love story!Someone mentioned 4 WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL. Great movie, but It doesn't come across romantic to me.In Response to Re: Your favorite romantic movies?:I too loved Murphy's Romance, but not sure if it would make the top 20. Out of Africa is my absolute favorite!!! Moonstruck is also a favorite. As for the Boston.com's selections, I just have to say Wall-E? Really?!?!?

Just peaking in from the sports and music boards. Let me add two:
1. Roman Holiday.
2. Rocky. Think about it. Yes, the boxing part of the plot is the main part of the story. However, the romance between Rocky and Adrian is such a big part of the character and movie too. It's as much a love story between Rocky and Adrian as it is the boxing movie. -

Jaws - a touching fable about a man and the shark who loves him.
(This movie might just be my default for every future 'listicle' such as this.)
