Albums that will clear a room :)

What music would you play if you wanted to clear your house of the final unwanted guests after a party?

They won't leave.   Pull out all the stops to get rid of them.   Have at it.

One suggestion:   Anything sung by Yoko Ono.

NOTE: I saw this on a blog with some very funny responses.    Save the ideas in case you're planning to have a Halloween party ...  Cool

With many of my friends - not all -  any live Phish album will do.

Others are best in moderate doses, where a few songs are fine, but they get restless.

Most of the time, I'll have a playlist made up in advance depending on who's coming - with a little something for everyone....

Disclaimer: I do NOT have this. I swear that I only remember The Lawrence Whelk Show because part of it would end up on the tapes we'd record Doctor Who reruns from PBS when I was a kid....

I bet an album from "Anal C*nt" or any other similar hardcore band would do...

That said, I never have to clear the house because I don't invite unwanted persons :P

I turn on the show sometimes just to irritate my spouse.  Works like a charm.

    If I'm being a real d**k, I'll hide the remote.  ;)

I didn't say they're unwanted when they arrive.  I said after the party is over, and by then, they're no longer "wanted" so ... (cue Lawrence Welk); hopefully, they won't start doing the polka, or you're really screwed.  ;)

never heard of this album ...Laughing ... but if it's as bad as the title, then it would do the trick in clearing a room.

Not necessarily....      sounds rather like a title Zappa might come up with.

I saw this fella at the Metropolitan Theatre (downtown Boston) in the mid '50s.

        ~ Johnny Ray ~

His audience was mostly teen-age girls that swooned and cried right along with him.

... I left about mid-way thru the show ... Frown

He would actually cry tears and sing at the same time.

Put his album on and the left-overs will get so depressed that they

will either be heading out the door or jumping out of the windows.

By the same token, a mix CD with Leonard Cohen's most depressing songs might do the trick.

The comedy show 'Royal Canadian Air Farce' once did a funny sketch about this, a fake Cohen hits collection called 'Music to Slash Your Wrists By'.

That's funny stuff. For me, it's more enjoyable to poke fun at critically acclaimed artists than to go after easy targets.

That's not Music - It's a link to a moving company in Africa. (spam?)

    Thanks, Beach.    You're so nice.

I was being a little facetious, as I usually key in when I see a poster who 1.)  has only one post to his name ... and 2.)  adds a suspicious link.    I won't be testing that link, rest assured.    Smile

I checked your link --- good one.    Did you notice all of the nostalgic comments for this guy, however?     Seems he was a fan fave for many people.    "Different strokes for different folks"  (as you would say).  =)

There was even a comment with someone saying this guy belongs in the RnR Hall of Fame ... but hopefully, that was a joke.   Right?  Cool

    Yeah, me, too.

It's the best when an acclaimed artist can poke fun at him (or her) self as well.

Some good examples are former members of boy bands who can poke fun at themselves.    Justin Timberlake, like him or not, has an uncanny comedic wit and is very skilled at self-deprecating humor.

(Leonard Cohen, BTW, is an inspired choice to clear out the house, btw.)
