    Mack Davis wrote and recorded I Believe In Music.  It
    became a hit but somewhat down the charts.  Jim Gold of Gallery sang the
    cover and it was a bigger hit.  I read that, supposedly, Mack Davis was not
    happy that Jim Gold would not sing: "God loves you when you sing" but sang another phrase.  I'm guessing Jim Gold probably had his own reasons.  In those respects I would say the two artists were different.
