[QUOTE]i realize i am partial to radiohead, but i think they do an awesomely rockin cover of " nobody does it better " by carly simon (for some james bond movie).  thom yorke said it's the "sexiest song ever written."  certainly one of them.

    Seriously?
In this case, Thom Yorke doesn't know what he's freaking talking about.

"I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself" - The White Stripes

Totally sick.  Not a bad original (Dusty rocks it), but this cover takes it to a different level, let's face it.  :)

Speaking of Cake, I always liked their take on the Isaac Hayes song, Never Gonna give you up, and War Pigs for that matter.

Another song that I think is a good re-working is Tomorrow Never Knows by 801. The band had Brian Eno and Phil Manzanera amoung others. Of course the original is phenominal as well

"I hurt myself today" by Johnny Cash.  I'm not sure if the original by NIN was bad, but Cash's version certainly took it to a whole 'nother level.
