If I get a chance to listen to some music, it wouldn't be anything other than what I usually listen to.
If the weather is good , I will be too busy though.
I will try to squeeze in the Jimi Hendrix version of the National Anthem, if I can....but Kate Smith's 'America the Beautiful' is out of the question.
Neil Young's 'Rockin' in the Free World' is a good choice...but I would play that on Halloween,Christmas,Benito Juarez's birthday or a Wednesday in August, too. -

Chuck Berry is pure Americana to my ears.
And sometimes I love him, sometimes I hate him, but ditto for John Mellencamp. If you want a 4th specific tune then "Justice and Independence" fits the bill from 'Scarecrow'. Hell, just put the album on, lots of appropriate stuff on. -

I was in the grocery store this afternoon buying barbecue supplies and Steve Earle's Jerusalem came on my ipod shuffle. I'm not sure exactly why it made me think of this thread, but it did. -

At the beach near where I live, some guy has one hell of a fireworks display (which he shoots off and pays for himself). A few years back someone had their car stereo cranked in the parking lot playing America The Beautiful by Ray Charles. It kind of stood out as just perfect -

I second the motion.
It certainly would be a lot cheerier and easier to sing...not so much violent imagery...no worrying about the second verse (which nobody seems to know)....
