Good news for Dead Heads. A never-before-seen 23-year-old concert is being shown in local movie theaters at 7 p.m., April 19 for the Grateful Dead Second annual Meet-Up At The Movies.

The concert was recorded July 18, 1989, at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre and features the iconic band – Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Brent Mydland, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart – performing a two-and-a-half hour concert. Some of the songs in the show are: a rare split of “Sugar Magnolia,” “Dear Mr. Fantasy” and “Hey Jude Medley.” Before the start of the concert, audiences will see a slideshow of rare photos of the band along with a previously unreleased live track recorded in Hartford, Conn., in July of 1974.

Tickets are available at the theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. The film will be screened locally at the Fenway 13 in Boston, Legacy Place, Dedham, Patriot Place, Foxboro, Showcase Cinemas, Randolph.
