RIP Allen Lanier of Blue Oyster Cult.  The first of my favorite post-Sixties band to go down.

So I bought the Waterboys album 'An Appointment with Mr. Yeats'.

Admittedly I'm a sucker for art rock, but I think this album is pretty damn brilliant, maybe a masterpiece.

Yeats' poems are incredible to begin with, and the music written by Mike Scott fits the poems wonderfully.  Simply oozing intensity and mystery to an appropriately frightening degree.

    Heavy stuff.
