I'm with you oldtimers...no Ipod for me. The last couple of days I've been listening to my Mott the Hoople double CD compilation 'The Ballad of Mott' in the car. And remembering what a great band they were. Five of many highlight songs:
Whizz Kid
I Wish I Was Your Mother
Hymn for the Dudes
Drivin' Sister
Marionette (weird)
I have to pick up some of Ian Hunter's solo stuff. -

I fought the whole I-POD thing for years, but after using it for a while I could not see life without it. I'm carrying around thousand of albums where ever I want to bring them. It doesn't skip, get scratched, or wear out over time. I still keep all music on disc, but for convenience you can't touch an I-Pod.
It's is a very good friend, who only lets me down when I forget to charge it. -

Wow...without my ipod usb-connected to my car stereo, I might have gone to jail on a highway shooting charge during rush hour long, long ago...
...otherwise, I wouldn't be able to play "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" at high volume when traffic is at a dead stop on 128.
My only complaint is when songs that are naturally joined are listed as two separate tracks - annoying as he!!.... -

For such cases that are uploaded from CD, I've used the itunes "advanced - join tracks" feature. Unfortunate that this can't be done when downloading from online source. -
