Pick one song from a known artist that we may not know..that we should

Like an obscure Beatles song, or Stones etc.. Im always intersted in obscurity and would like to listen to what others may suggest

For me it would the The Clash.. From Give Em Enough Rope.

Safe EuropeanHome.. My favorite Clash tune and maybe my fave song ever.

Tough call, there's a few different songs I can think off that fits.

This is from someone who's musical talents I feel are often overlooked.Just for pure driving instrumental rock,Frank Zappa + Steve Vai : Stevie's spanking

Led Zep's "Wearing And Tearing" is a good one (off of Coda) which is rarely invoked.

"Child Of Vision" by Supertramp is pretty great, though the album is well-known.

"I Just Wanna See His Face" off of the Stones' Exile In Main Street is awesome, greasy, goodness, but so is the whole LP.

On the Cars anthology I mentioned yesterday, there's an unreleased demo called "Ta Ta Wayo Wayo" that's incredibly goofy and fun...a side of the Cars I never knew about.  A couple of other cool rare tracks are "The Little Black Egg" and "Don't Go To Pieces"

"Fearless" from Pink Floyd's Meddle is incredible, but I don't know how obscure it is.  In that vein, I'll recommend "Murder" from David Gilmour's underrated second solo album.

I agree that "Child of Vision" is a great tune, but I've always thought it was a well-known song of their's. In any case, great, great tune.

From Supertramp, I'd add "Don't Leave Me Now"

I'll add for now: "Jack-A-Lynn" by Jethro Tull.

My pick would be "Mother Love" by Queen. Hearing the vocal and knowing Freddie is dying but still has his voice. To me it's one of his best "vocals" on a song. Freddie died before the group could finish the song, so Brian sang the last verse.

"Blind Willie McTell" - Bob Dylan. One of my all-time favorite Dylan songs, and that's saying a lot, considering all the great songs he's recorded.

    And the Address

    Hard Road

    April

    Mandrake Root

    The Shield

    Why Didn't Rosemary?

    I agree with Soxnut's choices.

I became a bigger fan of Deep Purple after I bought a double compilation LP album called Purple Passages, which contained the best songs culled from the 3 LPs of the MK1 era. Rod Evans was a terrific vocalist , not sure what ever became of him.....but the instrumental tune 'And The Address' is an all time favorites of mine.

Speaking of Deep Purple , Ritchie's band , Rainbow had many, many great tracks that were ignored by radio. Here's A few I strongly recommend:

Still I'm Sad ( Ritchie's instrumental version of the Yardbird's classic)

    Snowman ( another instrumental)

    The Shed

    Eyes Of The World

    Anybody There

    Black Sheep Of The Family

    A Light In The Black

    Death Alley Driver

Eyes Of Fire ( this song has an awesome bass line)

    Love's No Friend

Midtown Tunnel Vision ( reminds me of Hendrix)

    Self Portrait

    Stranded

If you've only just heard the hits by Rainbow, you are missing some incredible music.

Can you tell I worship at the alter of Ritchie Blackmore?
