"I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl" - Nina Simone's version (written by Bessie Smith*)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZm0jYXZ_2I

NOTE: The original lyrics by Bessie Smith (b. 1894-1937) are unreal, oozing with sex -- so explicit, sure makes the cr*p written today look lame in comparison (not too tough, but you know what I mean).

    In response to SlimPickensIII's comment:

I just bought a Bo Carter 4 CD compilation.   Nobody needs that much Bo Carter, but I stumbled onto this neat Record store in Newburyport and once I started picking up discs it was hard to stop.  Walked out about $150 poorer.

But anyway I've listened to 2 of the discs now,  and there couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 tunes that weren't about secks.  And some of them were god-awful.  "My Pencil done run out lead' and 'Let me put my Banana in your Fruitbasket'.    I'm thinking that Blind Boy Fuller did double entendre better.   Still, there were a couple of tunes I was going to steal for my own repetoire.

    LOL
