Re: Song of the Day 3/5/14

I've actually never seen the video before. Very much like a freaked out dream sequence.

I'm surprised this song ( like all Bowie songs except 'Changes', 'Fame' and 'Young Americans') doesn't get much radio play anymore. It was one of his best songs and best selling singles. I think the period from Station To Station through to the Tin Machine albums contains some of his best material. Same thing has happened with the Kinks, radio programmers ignore everything after Lola....except 'Come Dancing' , but maybe we'll save that for a "Kinks' thread, a group we have just barely touched on, unjustly.

Bowie songs I really like from this period include:

    Blue Jean

Neighborhood Threat ( the Iggy version is better).

    Time Will Crawl

    Modern Love

Cat People ( putting out fire).

    China Girl

    Fashion

    Look Back In Anger

    D.J.

    Red Money

    Heroes

    Sons Of The Silent Age

    Sound And Vision

    Station To Station

    Golden Years

    TVC15

and , of course, Ashes To Ashes.

Ash Wednesday is associated with a cross. Ozzy is associated with a crucifix.

Logic thus dictates that an Ozzy song is in order.

"Dust and ash forever, yeah" is also in this song's lyrics.
