Stumper / Final Question of the Week

Okay, one more, since we're on a roll.

I was going to make a thread on this artist, and still will, but in the final moment, I couldn't resist asking you all this question first:

Who is the best selling artist of the 2000s (the decade)?

If you want to go for broke:

    Who was second?

I don't think this will take that long ... depending on who's around.

I know Eminem is in there at either 1 or 2.

Can't think of the other one, but I'm leaning toward either Jay-Z or Beyonce...

    In response to MattyScornD's comment:

Eminem was the number one best-selling artist of that decade.   Nice work.

I happened to see a news blurb yesterday about Eminem b/c it was his birthday -- felt bad I hadn't seen it sooner, to post on the forum,  so I decided to revisit it today.

He had a video on youtube that has over 500,000,000 hits --  could I not notice?   :D

I'll do a brief thread on Eminem, as I'd originally planned, as I wanted to highlight a few points.

     Elvis or the Beatles?

A wild guess?   Well, the number two  best-seller was indeed the Beatles.

Can you believe that?   Of course you can.

An album called '1' pushed their selling statistics up, but regardless, they were the second-highest seller of the decade, and remain the top-selling artists in music history.

BTW, Kenny Chesney was an inspired guess, as he was number 6 on the list.  See below.  Country music, on the whole, sells big.

The list is a bit depressing, but not surprising.    As I said, I didn't go looking for it, I saw some loose-ended facts re: Eminem, and fell onto the list.

    Read it and weep.  hahahaha

    10. Jay-Z
      9. Linkin Park
      8. Creed   (do you believe this?)
      7. Nelly
      6. Kenny Chesney
      5. Britney Spears   (hahaha)
      4. Toby Keith
      3. Tim McGraw
      2. The Beatles
      1. Eminem
