    The American band, please

There is only one American band in the list below.  Which one is it?

Oh, and slackers, this is one you either know or you don't.  No room for bluffing.  :D NOTE: The band names are all real; I didn't make any of them up.

    Have at it:

    Dirt
    Purple Hearts
    Vice Squad
    King Adora
    Slint
    Shrug
    Ten Second Epic
    Junkhouse
    Sloan
    Three Days Grace
    The New Pornographers
    Doves

I put some Canadian bands in the list, some of them of obvious, especially TNP and TDG.   But regardless ... you're good at this.  So nice going.  :)

So here's part II / Bonus (since the first was so easy):

One member of Slint played drums on the first album of what very well-known (and beloved) band?

Yeah, thought I'd put a few Canadian bands in there, and Sloan is pretty well known.   Glad to oblige.  :)

    It's the Breeders.
I thought Matty might have known this, but maybe he's not around.
