Suppose it depends on one's definition of wacky!  Here are 2 for me:

    Rock Lobster/B-52s
    Uneasy Rider/Charlie Daniels

Some of the funniest, wackiest stuff comes from country music.  All you need is the song title really.

Drop Kick Me Jesus Through the Goalposts of Life (Bobby Bare)
Flushed from the Bathroom of Your Heart (Johnny Cash)

Re: What Are Your Favorite "Wacky" Songs?

What did I mean by "Wacky" songs?  I have a three cassette tape collection of them that are called just that: "Wacky".  Songs that are goofy, silly or way out in left field.  I know there are a lot more songs of this nature than are just in my collection.
Here are four more: Papa Oom Mow Mow by the Rivingtons, Rip Van Winkel by the Devotions, Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport and Tiptoe Through The Tulips by Tiny Tim.
But the above posters: Gerbs, Hfxsoxnut and Shumirules are correct.  There are wacky songs in different styles of music.  Country music has its share of them.

I always thought Ray Stevens' Gitarzan was pretty funny . . .   "Shut up, baby . . .  I'm tryin' to sing!" Also, Along Came Jones seems to pop into my head more than a novelty song ever should.

I don't know if it counts as "wacky," but Jim Stafford's Wildwood Weed is kind of funny, too.

Re: What Are Your Favorite "Wacky" Songs?

I love novelty songs and have many favorites.

The song mentioned on the O.P. was "Surfin' Bird" by the Trashmen, a garage/ surf band that could play both humorous and "straight up" music. They are one of the coolest American bands of the sixties that most people never heard of.

Here are a few I like:

"The Homecoming Queen's Got a Gun." by Julie Brown

"The Cockroach That Ate Cincinnati" by Rose and the Arrangement

"Let's Watch the Water Turn Black." by the Mothers of Invention.

"Pencil Neck Geek." by Freddie Blassie ( yes,the wrestler)

"Earache My Eye." by Cheech and Chong...it's the name of the whole sketch, but the song by "Alice Bowie" is priceless!

"One Piece at a Time" by Johnny Cash.

"LS Bumblebee" by Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. I remember a lot of people thought it was the beatles, sounds a lot like them.

Just about anything by the Fugs or Mothers of Invention.

Zillagod beat me to it but I remember Pencil Neck Geek from a Dr. Domento tape. Absolutely hilarious song.

The Night Santa Went Crazy - Weird Al (note, although Weird Al has a lot of songs on this list, I'll only list this one).

I Shot Santa In My Underware - The Fools

Are you referring to the "Real American" song and video featuring Hulk Hogan.  Outstanding.  I just saw this for the first time on You Tube after reading your post.  The video not only portrays his strong patriotism but also fair minded and kind hearted values.  But who is the group doing the music?  Is it possible Hulk Hogan is singing along too??

Also I read that 'Hogan is a skilled musician and plays the bass guitar. He has performed in several Florida area bands'.  Further, he is in a duet doing a Gary Glitter song.  "I'm The Leader Of The Gang (I Am)".  I am going on You Tube, now to watch and listen.

It's hard to find but back in the 80's Rodney Dangerfield did a song and video called "Rappin' Rodney" , absolutley hilarious listening to Rodney doing a Rap song. Just proves that Rap is no great feat of artistic acheivement and that anyone who can talk can rap.

I also offer the hilarious "Two Live Jews" a CD by two rappin' old jewish gents. Very, very funny.

"The Hanukkah Song"  ('Have a Happy Hanukkah, go tell you friend Veronica') has a good theme.  Adam Sandler does this song.  Even though he states a meaningful purpose, the song is still "wacked out" in a good sort of way.
"One of my friends, is one of the best sax players in Cleveland.  He plays in Jewish Temples, Christian Churches, gave lessons in different religeous schools and has dressed up as Santa Claus even though he is Jewish.  I tell him: "You are truly a man for all seasons".

Anything from the Dr. Domento show. God I loved that show. Every Sunday night from like 1974 early 75 to 77 or so I would listen. Shaving Cream, Dead Puppies, The ballad of Ben Gay, Friendly neighborhood narco agent and so many more. One of the best radio shows. That and the National Lampoon radio hour.
