Nice, and you're right.  What gave it away so fast?

It's as though I do this to amuse myself or something.

    Gotta be 1981...

...'Bette Davis Eyes' gives it away.

And three of those I had on a 8-track compilation from...

    K-Tel Records...!!

It was my freshman year of High School and I was dating a girl who loved Steve Winwood and she would play that song relentlessly,  and as soon as you posted this topic I had a brief laugh. Thanks!

Glad you had a good laugh over the Winwood song.  You sure got the answer fast, so it must be an indelible memory!  Wink

listening to the songs on that list might be defined by some as a form of torture.

Agreed; I took the best ones off the list (it was a much longer list) and left the absolute dregs  -- I thought it was pretty hilarious, actually.  Laughing

kind of like water-boarding with music.
speaking of true torture, i really believe that AMERICAN IDOL and GLEE are both in violation of the GENEVA CONVENTION.
both of these atrocities should be charged with criminal behavior.
you can also throw in the GRAMMIES and half-time at the SUPER BOWL.
music lovers and mediocrity haters unite!
