informative documentary, Roger, thank you. I didn't know that by 1980, 80% of all music sales were album driven and that Virgin's first record release was Tubular Bells..
What i found interesting was that record companies started putting out greatest hits and live albums in response to the oil embargo of the 70's, due to the high price/lack of petrol used in pressing new albums.
I'm one of the few here who feels that rock music had a resurgence in the 90's, with bands like Radiohead, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and have always been partial to that decade. But the 70's may have been the most creative decade, not just for rock, but all types of popular music. The sixties weren't bad either
