Though I'll take Patti Smith's "Horses" over both.

Where is Jessey when we need him?

This isn't the "clear the room" thread, you know?!   (just had to post on JE's behalf) ;P

Another one for the other thread, too ... (that song is awful -- I wouldn't be able to get out of the house fast enough ...)   No wonder you prefer the Stones.  :)

In hearing the U2 song recently, I realized it was one of my favorite U2 songs.  Not overplayed, by any means.

    Heh.

The other two songs are just generic and bland to me....which Patti is def not.

Stones "Wild Horses" clearly a classic but I do like the U2 tune as well.  Honorable mention to Echo & the Bunnymen "Bring On the Dancing Horses".

    I don't understand the question.

Are you asking (a)which group I like best or(b) which song?

Or are you asking(c) if I have a favorite song with " horses" in the title?

    a. Rolling Stones preferred band.

    b. I like the U2 song better.

    c. Heavy Horses by Jethro Tull.

Covering all the bases ( sorry, I have baseball on my mind on this most important day of the season).

If it was favorite song with a title relating to horses,I'd have to say my favorite is Wilson Pickett's "Mustang Sally".

I always kind of liked America's "Horse with no name" too.But enough of this horseplay.

You don't understand the question?  Making life more difficult than necessary?   You don't blend, I know.   Laughing

Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar.   Sometimes, I just make a very simple thread, with no agenda, no depth of thought, nothing ponderous.   That's a disappointment, I suppose, since you count on me to give you a space for a rant, but even I, cannot always deliver.  ;-)

Baseball is a worthy reason to be distracted right now.  I have to say, this is the first time in years I've watched the World Series, and while I am no expert, the way it has played out for me, it's like watching a work of art.   Not sure if this WS is on par, less or more (compared to other years / teams), but to me, it's been amazing.  Hope you think so, too.

It will only be amazing if we win.

I used to enjoy a playoff series or a Superbowl when two teams were playing that I couldn't care less who wins, (example Superbowl XXIII , SF vs. Cincinnati, one of the most enjoyable football games I 've ever watched). I used to watch the Superbowl, Stanley Cup Finals and the World Series every year. I stopped that about 20 years ago, and now pretty much only watch Red Sox games and some years when my summer agenda is light on outdoor projects- NASCAR.

I find myself not as obsessed with sports as I was between, say, 1970-1992. I don't want "amazing" series anymore. I just want Red Sox to win it all....because I suffered so long with Boston sports teams from 1970 to 1992....only the one team I didn't follow( I hate basketball) , the Celtics ever won a championship when I was a kid and a young man. So, I don't want "amazing".....I just want them to win.
