Your favorite holiday music with a Boston connection?

Dropkick Murphys, one of the Hub's best known groups, played a small set in the Globe's Media Lab Dec. 6 as part of the RadioBDC Live in the Lab concert series. The "Shipping Up to Boston" band just released a video for its Christmas song, "The Season's Upon Us," and in honor of the video and the show, we've rounded up a slew of other musical acts with Boston ties that have performed holiday tunes. Take a gander, and let us know your favorite Boston bands and holiday songs.

A rare version of a song that doesn't appear on any album,J. Geils (AKA The Snowballs) - "Come on to the Christmas party".Here's the story from gremmiehodad who posted the song on you-tube :

"Back on December 25th 1980 there was a first and only broadcast on WBCN Boston Radio by DJ Carter Alan of this Cool original tune by the J. GEILS BAND! They disguised themselves under the name THE SNOWBALLS! The vocals were disguised as well making it a "Chipmunk" recording! I thought it would be fun to take my audio software and bring the song down to normal speed! Sounds pretty Cool! HAPPY HOLIDAYS & ENJOY!"

     Slow speed (normal voices):

Regular speed, meant to make them sound the Chipmunks :

The Allstonians "Happy Christmas".  It was put out as a single on green vinyl back in 95.

No holiday season is complete without Billy Squier's "Christmas Is A Time (To Say I Love You)".

    Just a great track.

Don't forget that O Little Town of Bethletham was written by Episcopal Priest Philip Brooks of Boston.

How could we forget about "Jingle Bells"?  Written about the sleigh races from Medford Square down Salem St by James Lord Pierpont in 1850, this is the ultimate Christmas classic.
