Best burger outside Boston is at the Blue Marlin Grille in Essex can never decide between the Bousin Cheese or the Bue Cheese Burger usually convice my husband to go halvies with me and get both!

While it ain't cheap, the burger at the bar at The Harvest (Harvard Sq.) is exquisite ... fantastically good local grass fed beef (honestly, if you like your health, don't eat anything else and know where the meat comes from), perfect fries, and home-made condiments.

FOR ABOUT 6 DOLLARS YOU CAN GET A MASSIVE BURGER WITH WHATEVER YOU WANT ON IT NO EXTRA CHARGE,(HAND DOWN THE BEST TASTING BURGER YOU WILL EVER TRY) 2 SODAS AND AN ORDER OF FRIES OR TOTS. THE PLACE IS OPEN 50 HOURS A WEEK AND TAKES 2 MONTHS OFF IN THE SUMMER AND HAS AFFORDED TO STAY OPEN FOR 30SOMETHING YEARS.

Favorite place is definitely "5 Guys Burgers and Fries". They are hand pressed on a flat grill top with whatever toppings you want made to order. DELICIOUS!!! I can't compare any other burger anywhere! Seriously, if you haven't been there yet, please go!!

Dishonerable mention:  Rattlesnake, actually in boston, has a fancy burger with lobster and avocado in addition to other trappings; perhaps it was the two manhattans, but it sounded great and was god awful.  Serves me right for ordering the ultimate yuppie burger.
