The best fried rice I've had is at Great Chow in the Wollaston section of Quincy. The best Crab Rangoon is served up by Beni, an...er Japanese place in North Quincy.
The best overall Chinese fare I've had hasn't been in the Boston area. It's the Peking Palace in Falmouth. -

We would like to give a posthumous accolade to the great Chef Changs House formerly of Beacon Street Brookline. Nothing compares in our opinion....consistent excellence over 25 years! We miss you and hope all is well and we are still looking forward to a reopening.

Lived in Malden for many years and China Garden was the place to get great Chinese food. I miss it now that I have lived in Danvers for the last 12 years. But the Eighty Eight Restaurant has made up for that loss quite nicely. I order my Chinese take-out from no other. -

I thought I'd see at least one post claiming a place in Boston's Chinatown was the best. Nope, haven't seen one post yet. LOL. Every place I've eaten at there for lunch has given my belly a bad rumble. -

China Sky in Winchester is the best. Many Hunan dishes and dishes like lamb. This is not your greasy pork fried rice joint but real elegant food.
In Chinatown I like Peach Tree and East Ocean (for hot pots).
House of Chang in Cambridge on Concord ave has excellent dim sum every weekend.
For Sechuan - Sechuan Garden II in Brookline.
(Sechuan, Hunan and Cantonese are really not the same food at all.) -
