My SIL and I are going to Shear Madness this Spring. I went once in 1990 and lmao, and it still gets rave reviews. She's never been. Can't wait!! -

Fantastic music all weekend performed by nationally touring and top regional bands. This is a family friendly event. The festival offers a weekend long bluegrass education and performance program for children. To find out more and pre-register for the children's program, visit www.bbu.org. -

I've been going to this festival for years now. It is easily one of the most influential, and fun bluegrass festivals in the country. Great acts, master classes, jamming in the halls, showcase stage acts, vendors.....it's three days of "bluegrass heaven". I highly recommend it, especially for people who are not pure bluegrass-ophiles yet, and would like to see some of the best bands in the country. -

Incredible line-up this year. As a banjo enthusiast, I'm really looking forward to Tony Trischka's set on Friday night and The Grascals on Sunday afternoon. The Grascals' banjo player, Kristen Scott Benson, is the International Bluegrass Music Association's 2010 Banjo Player of the Year. -

My husband and I saw Pippin: His Life and Times at the Rose Performance Hall on the North Shore. It was an excellent performance!
We will be going to Anthony and Cleopatra at the Modern Theatre at Suffolk University next month.
