All your remarks about my cooking - you'd have loved my first ever fish chowder I made tonight then.  The house smells of wine - - - -

Probably, but I have a very unsophisticated palate

My endorsement of your chowder would mean very little

    I am unqualified to judge

I'm a tv show producer, not a food critic

Well, it really wasn't all that good.  Didn't make a roux so it didn't thicken, and while the flavor was OK, I can get much thicker and better tasting elsewhere.  Had a small piece of fish left so thought I would give it a try.  The house does smell winey and good tho.

I see what youre doing here, trumpet. Very sneaky as usual. Typical VOBN. Youre trying to turn my groundbreaking reality show into another tired, old cooking program

    Well, forget about it

This is my show, not yours

You either play by my rules, or nothing

    Fish Chow-dah for Two

Cook until soft, diced onions and celery in a mixture of vegetable oil and butter in a large pot.  Add a dash or two of white wine (1/4 cup) and cook a bit.  Add clam juice, salt and pepper,  Old Bay, and simmer.  In a separate pot, cook potatoes and fish in just enough water to allow to boil, for 10 minutes.  Add fish and potatoes to onion/celery mixture, along with a half a cup of the water they were cooking in.  Take off heat and let it cool down a bit, then add cream and slowly reheat, being careful not to bring to a boil.  Toss in some fresh parsley.

Ache, Thursday works best for me.

Everyone knows that if you add wine to anything it tastes better, not exactly rocket science!

Remember Julia Child?  Lately I started adding a cup of red wine to my vegetarian chili. Perfecto, if I say so myself....but I wouldn't dream of serving it to anyone but me. lol

They were discussing on talk radio about a week or two ago the importance of having a dishwasher for sanitation.  There are people that won't eat food if it was prepared in a home that doesn't have a dishwasher.  It makes sense the more I think about it.  I don't have a dishwasher :(

Robin, I'm the same way. Anything I cook, to me it tastes great. But if I try to impress anyone else with it, I'm SOL. Thank God for take-out

See you on Thursday! One request: Would you mind bringing your dogs with you? I want them to be part of the show too, but first I would like to see how they look on screen and how well each takes direction

As you can see from this photo, Cheerio photographs well from any angle.  Here she is in a more serious pose, welcoming people into our home.  It shows the clarity of her eyes, her excellent body line.  I have more cutesy photos of her in her portfolio, but just follow the line of her from her head down to the tip of her tail - is it not perfect?

Ache, I am somewhat superstitious about putting pictures of myself and family members on the internet. I guess I'm old fashioned, it just doesn't feel right to me...same thing with Facebook.

However, if we are going to become celebrities ($ and fame) I might be able to get over it.  I may have to contact Dr Keith and see if he will give me a reduced rate for some counseling.

Here is a facsimile of my Cairn, Fred.  The other one, Lola, resembles a Toy Poodle.  They are both attractive dogs and will cooperate...as long as there is cooked chicken involved (white meat only).   Oh, and none of that chemically prepared rotisserie crap from Costco.

Regarding a lot of the stuff that is posted around here.

As Judge Judy would say, "If it doesn't make sense, it's usually not true".

Btw: Brendan Behan Pub in JP allows well behaved dogs on leashes (I heard it through the grapevine) so that might be a good place for our meetings.  I assume you will be bringing William.

It's near Angell,  where Ms Lola goes to see her specialist once a year. I wonder if they can make a good Bloody Mary there.  Anyone know?

Is it not perfect? Ummm, no, it is not.

Now I know where the term "fat cat" originated: from inside your house

If she wants to be on the show, she's going to have to drop a few. More than just a few actually. You too, trumpet. I am putting you both on a strict diet and exercise program immediately

Shooting starts in a few weeks, and I cant afford to have either of you looking sloppy...

It's too bad that BDC posts these questions, like the OP to this thread...then abandons them and never interacts with what they start.

It's called "seagulling" in many forums:  Fly in, plop, and fly off.  (As I may do here.)

Anyway, can you imagine "The Housewives of Southie"?  Prediction: It would be unique in the genre, with lots of bleeping the converstions.  A blending of "Housewives..." and Jerry Springer.

And to amp up the production values, add a little Hatfields & McCoys back story with a never-seen off-camera presence named, oh, "Whitey"?

Right, you can't make this stuff up.

Nice! A Cairn and a Toy are ideal, Robin. I will have my personal chef prepare chicken for them everyday. On set, they will be treated like canine royalty

See you Thursday at the BBP! Bloody Mary's all around!

By the way, just so you know, William has a weakness for French girls, so please warn Lola to prepare herself for a little ummm...uninvited attention, okay?

Oh, and Ache, don't worry...I know you were just kidding about the BBP.

We can always reschedule for another time :)

In fact wouldn't it be nice if Boston.com would send a camera crew to film the meeting and picked up the tab?   Moderators, are you listening?  Maybe we could all be on Chronicle or something. lol

Dayam!  I really thought I made it up.  And that reference to the stabbing murder makes my "Whitey" reference a cropper, or at least old news.  As they kept saying during the last trial, "The truth is stranger..."  The production values would be in the suspense over how much reality they'd have the courage to put in the "reality".  Just goes to show that it would pretty much write itself.  I still think it has the legs to jump out of YouTube.

Kidding? No way, Robin. I was fullly expecting to meet you at the Brendan Behan on Thursday

I spent a whole hour yesterday instructing William on how to act around Lola:

"Dont be pushy," I told him. "No aggressive behavior whatsover. Especially when her back is turned. Lola isnt that kind of girl"

He's going to be upset when he finds out the meeting fell through, but I will try to let him down gently

    Hopefully we can reschedule

PS William says that he will appear on Chronicle with you, but only if interviewed by lovely Shayna Seymour
