    Re: Jon Stewart's best moments?

Stewart's response to the denial of healthcare to the 9/11 first responders extended from August 2010 to April 2011, climaxing with his interview of four first responders who had serious health difficulties as a result of their service in the aftermath of the attacks.  The passion that Stewart brought to this issue and his anger at 9/11 being used for political purposes (specifically Rudy Guiliani requesting donations of $9.11) was an example of how satire can have beneficial effects in our society.

I agree with crkboy, but would also add the bit he did on the GOP's "but Clinton" fetish, and pretty much any bit he does where he shows a news organization saying one thing over and over and then saying they've never said it.

And his words on the Boston Marathon bombings were great.

Agreed on his comments about the Boston Marathon. I love Jon Stewart. I love his brand of comedy...but on top of that he makes you think. My son and I saw his rally in DC a couple of years ago and it was great. I've heard him speak outside of the satire of TDS...and he is amazing.

The Daily Show is less "fake," as Boston.com puts it, than most other televised "news" in America. I used to take regular doses of Jon Stewart for my much-needed funny fix; now I also take it as my most believable news source. Stephen Colbert is running. very close second-place for credibility.

Oh I agree to this.... as soon as I heard the news, I knew Jon and Stephen would have a field day with it.
