I am a big maks fan and hope he can make the final four. I see stress and physical wear on the younger dancers more then I do Gladys. I don't like the dance off and it tells me the show is slipping in the ratings. They also cut out the rehash hour on Tuesday.

Sorry you deleted your post,  I'm still wondering why they deleted the last DWTS thread and was skittish about responding.   I agree I think it's between Katherine and William,  I really enjoyed Carlos Santana, forgot how good a musician he is.  I think if Gavin removed the hat and practiced more he would have lasted!

Excellent show last night!  Have a feeling it may be Gladys and Roshan for the bottom two,  that final dance off they make them do is intense,  I would just leave! That Katherine must have had professional dance training before!   William just stands there and the crowd goes nuts, but the judges called him on it! Tonight should be interesting!

    Re: Season 14, DWTS

Hey D-L.  I went looking for the chat on those commoner/uncommoner boards last week, but couldn't find any place to hang my hat.

Katherine definitely has to be considered the favorite.  She'd get my votes, if I actually voted.

Roshan hasn't worn well.  I liked him early on but there is something about him I don't care for.  Hard to pin down, just some vague combination of cocky and slick that turns me off.  If he's in a dance-off with Gladys or Melissa (the two weakest dancers left) he's sticking around another week.

I've grown a little tired of Maria too.  And William, who slowly seems to be getting a big head.  The judges may have had a few words, but they still scored him fairly high.  His boisterous fans are eventually going to cause a backlash, he's not remotely as good as the noise would indicate.

Seems to be lots of animosity towards Jaleel on one of the other boards, but I like him.  Probably my 3rd favorite.  Donald is my second choice.

Motown week was okay.  Martha Reeves is ... how to put it, past her prime.  Way past.  Her voice was terrible and she has no business stuffing herself into small sequined dresses anymore.  Those guys who currently call themselves the Tempatations were better,  but the real Temptations have all long passed away. There's only one still alive, and I couldn't tell if he was up there or not. Smokey was/is Motown, and he's still got it, but I've always found his facial expressions a bit odd. He's still got that too.

We talk about DWTS on the "Where's the Party?" thread (The Commoners), feel free to join in if you want (that goes for anyone).  I think Smokey has had some excellent work done, that's why his face doesn't move much!  I don't blame him, he's still great!  I was hoping he'd sing Just to See Her.  Maria is boring!  Katherine has this thing nailed!  William is excellent eye candy!   Brooke is still showing more and more of what you mentioned a while back!  I don't envy her though, it must be a burden to have look perfect all the time!

    Re: Season 14, DWTS

I think the judges are starting to catch on to Maria. During the Marathon Derek was doing his usual Derek pyrotechnics and Maria was just standing there, watching with the rest of us.

Big Bruno needs to reassert control of his situation.  Little Bruno is not only calling for absurd scores (a 10 for William?  Please),  but the comments Little B is sending up to Big Bruno's mouth are getting raunchier with each passing week.  Awful, just awful.

I think my filters have completely blocked Brooke.  Haven't a clue to what she was or wasn't wearing.  The hair wasn't taking over the entire set, the way it did a few weeks ago.  Beyond that, neither Little Slim or Big Slim have noticed. We only have eyes for Katherine.  And Peta.

In the end all I can say is thank God for Tom Bergeron.  Quickest wit in the West, he has me laughing out loud at least once every episode.

    Re: Season 14, DWTS

Bye Gladys.   She was a nice lady.  And just an adequate dancer, but she was the oldest contestant, and apparently she's still maintaining a heavy concert schedule, so all the more power to her!

I was a little surprised at how weak Roshon was in the dance-off, really wasn't that much better than Gladys.  I get the feeling they want Roshon off next, and I'm not sure how much viewer support he has.

I've also concluded that William is the male version of Brooke.  It's not just the language barrier, the guy really comes across as a dumb galoot.

I fell asleep during the first half hour, but no surprises here!   Gladys is a class act and it was nice to have her on as long as we did.  I'm very impressed with Tristan too, and hope they keep him around.  Maybe it's a female thing but I don't mind watching William at all... and hope he stays till the end,  I think Bruno agrees!

I'm probably in the minority as far as the male mindset goes, but intelligence is essential.  I don't care what a woman looks like, if she's stupid I cannot get past it. It's the most unattractive trait I can imagine.  William is not a complete idiot, but he's a bit of a dullard.   And is he really that attractive to begin with?  I can see the other side sometimes, but here, nope. Don't quite get it.  I can't shake the feeling his manager put a bunch of ringers in the audience to create the buzz.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Levy_(actor) He's a male model.  Definitely a good career move to do DWTS and maybe get some movie offers, endorsements etc,  I don't think he cares if he wins or not!  So I agree, his manager is probably orchestrating the whole thing!

not sure why my thread got deleted except that I have a few people flagging all my comments, and the moderators sometimes don't seem to read what they are deleting.

I enjoyed this week's shows. martha is way past her prime.  Smokey was ok but looked liked he was cemented in that spot.  The temptations should really hang it up.

Gladys is gone and was the right pick.   It will be interesting to see how far Maks goes.  Melissa is not the best, but maks makes her look good and I don't see mistakes.  Maria's stumble on the stair should have brought her marks way down.

    Re: Season 14, DWTS

I agree that William isnt the smartest fella in the world, but for a handsome pr*ck, he doesnt seem all full of himself at least. Preening for the camera/posing in front of Bruno/admiring his own reflection in the mirror...that sort of thing. I find that kind of behavior intolerable. So I give him some points for his apparent lack of arrogance

inre, his dancing: As thickly muscled as he is, William is pretty limber out on the dance floor. His arm movements are actually quite fluid. Surprises me a little. I thought for sure his excess bulk, especially up top, would be a hindrance to him at some point, but so far it hasnt been

Also the judges are always harping on "framing". Seems to me, William provides a very solid frame for Cheryl B to work with

Katherine, William, and Donald all the way to the final three...we agree on that, right?

At this point though, I'd say it's Katherine's Mirror Ball Trophy to lose

    PS Hi, Robin!

    Re: Season 14, DWTS

Hurt or not, there's a pretty fair chance that Maks is going to be getting plenty of rest after tonight.  Melissa is the weakest remaining dancer.  The only one she has a prayer of beating in a dance-off is Maria, but I suspect the viewers (and judges) will keep Maria (or more accurately, Derek) out of the bottom two a bit longer.

Viewer support for Roshon seems tepid, and there's downright animosity towards Jaleel.  So the other possibility is a dance-off between these two.  Alot harder to pick a winner there, might depend on which dance they have to perform.  Carry Anne will never vote for Roshon, so he's starting down one judge before the music begins.  But either one will dance circles around Melissa, if it comes to that.

I have plenty more to say about William, but I guess I'll wait until after tonight's show.  He'll be around for at least a few more weeks, and yes, probably all the way to the finals.

I agree that maks has no chance in a dance off.  Len hates him as well Carrie.  I think he has the voters behind him to keep him out of the bottom two for at least tonight,

    Re: Season 14, DWTS

I agree that the fans vote for their favorite pro as much as they do for their favorite celeb dancer. But Max has just as much/more star power as Derek does IMO. Not as many Mirror Ball Trophies though (Derek 3/Max 0)

I'm not crazy about Melissa, but I do like Max, so I hope his fans will vote to keep him around for at least another week

Assuming Katherine, William, and Donald are safe, there are six potential pairings for tomorrow's dance duel. Ive asterisk'd the celeb I think the judges will likely save in each pairing:

    Roshon* vs Melissa
    Roshon vs Jaleel*
    Roshon vs Maria*
    Maria* vs Melissa
    Maria* vs Jaleel
    Jaleel* vs Melissa

    Peace

I missed about 2 minutes of last night's show.  Naturally it was 2 minutes of the first 30 of the season.  I came back in at the tail end and was pooo-pooing it ("Maria  is just standing there, Derek's doing all the work"), which got an eyeroll from my fiancee).  I guess she must've done something right, but I'm still not a huge fan of Maria.

Melissa is toast. And did you catch Maks expression while Carry Ann was giving her critique?  Phew!  I thought he was going to spontaneously combust, but he didn't say a word.   They're in the bottom 2, no doubt about it.   Last night was one of her better efforts, but she's half a step behind and holding on for dear life as Maks whips her around.  Not good.

Roshon's probably down there with her.   His lifts were pretty good,  but gag me with a spoon, you probably don't want to draw attention to those scrawny legs.  I guess given the dance there wasn't much choice, but the kicks were odd.

Mak's facial expressions were priceless.  To add insult to injury, Mak's team did great and they got lower scores.

I agree about Maria just standing there, and when a partner of Mak's does the same, the judges have an major issue.

If Mak's manages to stay out of the bottom two this evening, then next week the judges will give him even lower scores.

I can't believe the judges gave Maria three 10s, I didn't think she was that good and I thought the fangs looked stupid!  The judges were a little harsh with Melissa, Maks looked angry but he's keeping his mouth shut after what happened last season. Roshon's boyish looks definitely work against him!

    Hi, Robin

I didnt think MM's dance was that great either, but it's the law that Young Derek Hough must receive the first perfect 30 of the season. Or it's an unwritten rule among the judges. Something like that. The YDH Protocol, I think, they call it...

But anyway, more proof last night that the judges have it in for poor Max. Carrie Anne in particular. They pissed him off so bad, he even forgot to pinch Bergeron's butt. If his eyes shot missiles, then Carrie Anne would have been nuked. And deservedly too. She sucks

Tonight: Melissa Gilbert and Roshon Fagan in the Dance Duel. According to my sheet from yesterday, young Bambi Legs should win, so it looks like bye bye Max unfortunately. I hope not, but that seems to be the direction things are headed in
