I'll  bet  "Lord and Lady Douchebag" wasn't there,  but I  think it's hilarious.

    what an awful list...

Sorry, but any list that didn't cite Eddie Murphy's Buckwheat - either him singing, the death of Buckwheat or the death of John David Stutts is completely out of touch with the history of the show.  I challenge anyone to suggest that Murphy - when he was at his height during his tenure - wasn't the all time biggest star on the show in terms of impact and notoriety...

Oh hell yeah, the Buckwheat assassination was classic. "Doctor, have you seen video footage of the shooting?  No?  Well, let's take a look."

Where is the list, by the way?

Haven't seen BDC's list but off the top of my head: (It' been so long since I've seen many of these that I know I'll miss some great ones.)

    Anything with Belushi's samari (sp?).

Jane Curtin and Dan Ackroyd doing the Point/Counterpoint -- "Jane, you ignorant slut."

    Agree on Fred Garvin.

Will Ferrell and Darrell Hammond doing Bush and Gore.

Phil Hartman doing Caveman lawyer -- fire, bad -- or Reagan.

The Sinatra Group -- (I crack up even now thinking of it). (Another Hartman character now that I think of it.)

    Eddie Murphy's Mr. Rogers.

Chevy Chase, Dennis Miller, Kevin Nealon, Darrell Hammond doing the news.

Ackroyd doing Jimmy Carter, talking down the caller who took angel dust.

Agree on "I hate when that happens" and Alec Baldwin.

Steve Martin was in many good ones over the years along with Tom Hanks.

That's it for now. Maybe I'll think of some more.

The skit with Patrick Swayze and Chris Farley auditioning for Chippendales was one of the funniest.  And I agree with an earlier poster who mentioned Peyton Manning coaching kids playing football.  There have been so many excellent ones, though, it's impossible to remember even all the funniest.

I'd have to go with the it's a wonderful life spoof where the Jimmy Stewart character and the town beat the daylights out of "Mr. Potter" for stealing money.  Or the Tina Fey as Sarah Palin episodes. Most of the Church lady skits are funny too.

Re: What is your favorite 'Saturday Night Live' moment or sketch?

No Roseanne Roseannadanna? Coneheads on Family Feud? Father Guido Sarducci? Puppy Uppers/Doggie Downers? Bris in the car? Eddie Murphy on George Washington Carver? Tim Kazurinski (sp?) on Weekend Update ("yabba-dabba-do-icide)? The two sides of Ronald Reagan?

And, as other posters mentioned, Jimmy Carter on the radio show? Death of Buckwheat? John Belushi/Joe Cocker?

OK, I'm dating myself, but I would have expected some of these on the list. Certainly a lot funnier than the Globe's #1. I do agree with King Tut and the Swayze/Farley skit.

I should want to cook him (Mr. Belvedere) a simple meal, but I shouldn't want to cut into him, to tear the flesh, to wear the flesh, to be born unto new worlds where his flesh becomes my key.

Synchronized swimming sketch! with 2/3 of Spinal Tap + Martin Short.

I didn't see any sketches with Phil Hartman. Too bad as he was a great performer, and that era of SNL was awesome. How about the Sweeney Sisters?
