(Inferno was the obvious association, but it's more fun to bend it.)

    The Wine Dark Sea

The Wine-Dark Sea (Vol. Book 16) (Aubrey/Maturin Novels)

The Half Blood Prince was a good bok, but it's the worst of the movies (by far).    I thought Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 was the best of the movies (so far).  It's also my favorite of the books (Prisoner of Azkaban a close 2nd).

Ha!  I like how Harry Potter is a running theme :-)

Harry Potter Marathons on lazy, cold winter Saturdays have been a favorite in my house, so I've seen all the movies more than once too.  I always forget which one is which till I'm in the middle of it - I have no idea why.  My daughter, on the other hand, can quote entire passages.  She re-reads all the books every summer.

I have to share. I was just recommened a book by a friend.  I googled, and this is a quote I pulled from Huffpost:

It's a testament to his libido, if not his character, that Cornelius Vanderbilt died of syphilis instead of apoplexy.

    Title:  Dead End Gene Pool

I read TPB in full twice when I was in my 20s. I was still malleable, and its irreverence or something (je ne sais quois), got imprinted in my psyche. I reread or referenced segments of it for years and years.
    If you like Candide...

I've never seen the movie. I'm afraid it will ruin "the PB experience" for me.

Now I'm going to start rummaging through tons of stored away boxes and see if I still have my copy.

I enjoyed it. Rhys spins "the rest of the story" ala Wicked, but a lot shorter. Queen Victoria would be spinning in her grave....

I think this type of literature is called "parallel fiction"
