    EES, i read some of giraffe.  a few years ago i could only handle light reading and I selected Giraffe based on its cover.  Fail! 
     i may revisit it, but the ending hasn't changed so i'm not sure it's worth going thru the pain.

    I tend to read books in a series in a straight shot chronologically.  So I would probably go for whatever was published next.  I enjoyed that particular series.  Plus, it jump started my daughter's summer reading a few years back, so I was totally on board for getting a hold of everything she wrote.
